Job summary

Strato Solutions Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced GIS Database Manager to oversee enterprise GIS databases, ensuring data security, integrity, availability, and effective management of geospatial data in an Oil & Gas environment.

You will design and maintain GIS database structures, administer SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, and support ArcGIS Enterprise/SDE environments while collaborating with GIS, IT, and data teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Information Technology, Geo-Information, Survey, Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Geoscience, Geology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10–14 years of cumulative experience in GIS database management.
• Minimum 5–9 years of hands-on administration experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on administration experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, SDE / Enterprise Geodatabase.
• Minimum 1 evidenced assignment involving development or implementation of database security, data integrity, or data management procedures.
• Strong understanding of enterprise GIS database architecture and geospatial data management.

• Administer enterprise databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

We are looking for an experienced GIS Database Manager to manage and support enterprise GIS databases, ensuring data security, integrity, availability, and effective management of geospatial data in an Oil & Gas environment. The role involves designing and maintaining GIS database structures, administering enterprise database systems, supporting GIS data integration, and ensuring GIS databases meet business and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure GIS database security, integrity, and reliability.

Design, maintain, and optimise GIS database structures according to business and operational requirements.

Administer and manage enterprise database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

Administer and support ArcGIS Enterprise / SDE / Enterprise Geodatabase environments.

Manage GIS data integration and ensure consistency, availability, and integrity of geospatial data.

Monitor database performance and troubleshoot database-related issues.

Coordinate with GIS, IT, and data teams to support seamless data integration and operations.

Provide technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge transfer on GIS database management and best practices.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Information Technology, Geo-Information, Survey, Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Geoscience, Geophysics, Geology, Engineering, or related discipline.

Minimum 10–14 years of cumulative experience in GIS database management.

Minimum 5–9 years of hands‑on administration experience with at least one enterprise database management system: SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

Minimum 3–4 years of hands‑on administration experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, SDE / Enterprise Geodatabase.

Minimum 1 evidenced assignment involving the development or implementation of database security, data integrity, or data management procedures.

Strong understanding of enterprise GIS database architecture, geospatial data management, and database administration.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Relevant experience supporting GIS database operations within an Oil & Gas environment.

Available for mobilisation within 14 calendar days from Release Order (RO) issuance.
