Job summary

Strato Solutions Sdn Bhd – Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced GIS Operations Manager to oversee GIS operations, service delivery, system architecture, integration requirements, and technical implementation within a large-scale Oil & Gas environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in GIS or related field, at least 15 years of GIS experience, and 5+ years in managing a GIS team of 5+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in GIS or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of cumulative GIS experience.
• Minimum 5 years of managing GIS operations for a team of at least 5 personnel.
• Minimum 3 end-to-end GIS projects with details (name, client, value, duration, planning, resources, risk).
• Minimum 5 years in GIS system architecture, solution design, or GIS technology evaluation.
• Minimum 5 years of cumulative Oil & Gas industry experience.

• Oversee day-to-day GIS operations, service requests, timelines and delivery activities.
• Coordinate GIS teams and stakeholders for effective delivery.
• Oversee GIS system architecture, design, and technical implementation requirements.
• Translate project requirements into operational GIS solutions and interfaces.
• Evaluate GIS technologies and recommend suitable solutions based on requirements.
• Develop QA/QC guidelines and technical standards for GIS operations.
• Coordinate GIS interfaces with upstream, downstream and corporate applications.
• Manage resources, priorities, risks and issues to ensure GIS service delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and knowledge transfer to GIS personnel.

Translate project requirements into operational solutions, including front-end design and system integration requirements.

Evaluate GIS technologies and recommend suitable solutions based on operational and technical requirements.

Develop and oversee implementation approaches, technical standards, and QA/QC guidelines for GIS operations.

Coordinate GIS system interfaces and integration requirements with upstream, downstream, and corporate applications.

Manage resources, priorities, risks, and operational issues to ensure effective GIS service delivery.

Provide technical leadership, guidance, documentation, and knowledge transfer to GIS personnel.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Information Technology, Geo-Information, Surveying, Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Geoscience, Geophysics, Geology, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 15 years of cumulative GIS experience.

Minimum 5 years of experience managing day-to-day GIS operations for a GIS department/team of at least 5 personnel.

Minimum 3 evidenced GIS projects managed end-to-end, with details including project name, client, contract value or team size, project duration, and involvement in planning, resource allocation, and risk management.

Minimum 5 years of experience in GIS system architecture, solution design, or GIS technology evaluation.

Minimum 5 years of cumulative Oil & Gas industry experience.
