This role focuses on geospatial data processing, GIS system deployment & maintenance, spatial analysis, map visualisation and end‑to‑end GIS project implementation to support business scenarios including land surveying, transportation and logistics. Key responsibilities are listed below:
Spatial Data Processing & Database Building Perform collection, data entry, cleaning, rectification, mosaicking, format conversion and topology validation for various geospatial datasets including vector and raster data. Complete spatial database design, setup, data import, update and daily maintenance to ensure data integrity, accuracy, timeliness and standardisation. Establish standardised workflows for data processing.
GIS Project Implementation & Delivery Participate in requirement gathering, solution design, on‑site implementation and acceptance sign‑off for GIS information‑based projects, logistics projects, address database projects and other related initiatives. Independently carry out GIS system deployment, map service publishing, function debugging and scenario adaptation. Align with client requirements and deliver GIS technical solutions tailored to business scenarios to ensure smooth project go‑live and delivery.
Spatial Analysis & Map Production Conduct GIS spatial computation including overlay analysis, buffer analysis, road‑network analysis, site‑selection analysis and terrain analysis according to business requirements. Develop standard electronic maps, thematic maps and business‑oriented visual maps; optimise map colour schemes, layer classification and symbol styling. Generate geospatial deliverables and visual outputs to support business decision‑making.
GIS Platform Operation & Maintenance and Function Adaptation Be responsible for daily operation & maintenance, bug troubleshooting, performance optimisation and version iteration of Web‑GIS platforms. Support integration and adaptation of multi‑source map engines including OpenStreetMap, Google Maps and HereMaps. Complete foundational operation tasks such as layer management, permission configuration and service orchestration to guarantee stable platform performance.
Technical Documentation & Stakeholder Support Compile comprehensive technical materials including data processing manuals, project implementation plans, technical specifications, acceptance reports and operation‑maintenance documents. Liaise with clients, R&D and project teams to resolve GIS‑related technical enquiries. Provide on‑site and remote technical support as well as end‑user training; follow‑up on post‑launch optimisation requests.
Technical Iteration & Process Optimisation Keep up‑to‑date with emerging technologies, tools and industry standards within the GIS domain. Continuously optimise workflows for data processing, map rendering and spatial analysis to improve project delivery efficiency and output quality. Support internal technical accumulation and standardisation for the team.
Academic Background Bachelor’s degree or above in Geographic Information Science, Surveying & Mapping, Remote Sensing, Urban‑Rural Planning, Computer Science or related fields. Solid understanding of fundamental GIS principles, spatial data models, map projection, topological relationships and coordinate‑system transformation.
**Technical Skills
Proficient in mainstream GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS and SuperMap; experienced in full workflows for vector / raster data processing, topology validation, spatial analysis and thematic map creation.
Hands‑on experience with spatial databases including PostGIS, MySQL and Oracle; competent in spatial database construction, index optimisation, data query and batch data processing.
Good knowledge of common coordinate systems, projection conversion, tile slicing and map‑service publishing standards (WMS / WFS / TMS).
Familiarity with Web‑GIS visualisation technologies is preferred.
Working exposure to mapping services and frameworks such as OpenStreetMap, HereMaps, Google Maps and Mapbox, Leaflet is preferred.
Ability to write Python scripts for GIS data automation processing is preferred.
Prior project experience in surveying‑mapping, land‑resource management, smart city or logistics industries is preferred.
Soft Competencies Capable of independent project delivery; logical thinking, meticulous working style with strict awareness for data precision and project quality control. Strong communication skills, technical‑document writing capability and problem‑solving skills for effective cross‑party collaboration with clients and internal teams. Good stress tolerance and teamwork mindset; flexible to follow project arrangements. Occasional business travel for project‑related assignments will be an advantage. Familiarity with local survey‑mapping industry specifications and standards will be considered a plus.
