Job summary

Gradiant Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Selangor is looking for an O&M Engineer to monitor, operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems, ensuring performance meets SOPs and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, strong technical and analytical skills, ability to manage on-site manpower, and good communication in English and Malay, including reporting and log sheets; willingness to work weekends/public holidays when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with environmental/chemical/civil focus.
• Sound understanding of wastewater treatment processes and plant operation.
• DOE regulations knowledge preferred.
• Strong technical and analytical abilities for operation and troubleshooting.
• Leadership and organizational skills to manage on-site manpower/resources.
• Proficiency in preparing operational documents (log sheets, reports, analyses).
• Excellent communication to maintain client relationships.
• Proficiency in written/spoken English and Malay.
• Commitment to safety and SOP compliance.
• 2–4 years in wastewater or water treatment plant operation/maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance, chemical management, process optimization.
• DOE-related documentation/report experience.
• Ability to work independently, including weekends/public holidays when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate & maintain WWTP.
• Maintain client relationships and meet operation requirements, including weekends/holidays.
• Prepare operator log sheets, chemical consumption, parameter analyses, service reports.
• Operate plant per SOP and maintain optimum performance.
• Maintain site records, weather logs, progress reports, and manage manpower/resources.

• Monitoring, operation & maintenance of Waste Water Treatment Systems.
• Maintain good relationship with client and satisfy operation requirement whenever is necessary even during weekend and holidays.
• Representing Sigma for all DOE related matters.
• Preparing operator log sheet, including chemical consumption, parameter analysis, service report, whichever necessary to maintain the performance of the WWTP.
• Responsible to operate the plant following Standard Operating Procedure (S.O.P.) and the performance at optimum level.
• Maintain all site records, weather log, site progress report, controlling man power at site, arrange resources as necessary and not limited to any stated above.
  

Follow strictly to all safety aspect as stated in Client's Health & Safety Procedures

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil, or equivalent discipline).
• Sound understanding of wastewater treatment processes, plant operation, and environmental compliance.
• Knowledge of DOE regulations and reporting procedures is preferred.
• Strong technical and analytical abilities for plant operation and troubleshooting.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including during weekends or public holidays when necessary.
