Job summary

Flex in Prai, Penang is seeking an NPI Technical Process Management Engineer to bridge innovation engineering and high-volume production, turning concepts into manufacturable solutions.

You will evaluate designs, drive data-driven recommendations, and develop scalable, cost-effective processes. The role requires hands-on PCB/ SMT/ Wave soldering know-how, PFMEA/DFMEA involvement, and active participation in process documentation and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in process or manufacturing engineering.
• Hands-on knowledge of PCBA, SMT, Wave Soldering, and Assembly processes.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience coordinating with multi-stakeholders to ensure smooth project transfer from R&D to Penang site.

What You’ll Do:

• Be the bridge between our innovation engineering teams and high-volume production groups, turning creative concepts into manufacturable solutions.
• Evaluate product designs and provide data-driven recommendations to boost process efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design innovative, cost-effective, and scalable manufacturing processes.
• Partner with design engineers to develop prototype and low-volume build processes, ensuring smooth technology transfer.
• Lead quick-reaction engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve challenges during product builds.
• Define, implement, and sustain robust and repeatable process parameters for high-quality manufacturing.
• Conduct root cause analyses and drive continuous improvement across production lines.
• Apply statistical process control (SPC) and analytical tools to monitor and optimize performance and yield.
• Champion safety, productivity, and throughput enhancements, creating a culture of operational excellence.
• Innovate and refine manufacturing techniques to expand Flex’s in-house capabilities and improve yield outcomes.
• Develop and maintain clear process documentation and training materials.
• Support technology transfers by delivering hands-on training to production personnel.
• Participate in PFMEA and DFMEA to ensure design and process reliability from concept to completion.

What You Bring to the Team:
