Job summary

Flex is seeking an NPI Technical Program Management Engineer in Prai, Penang to join our manufacturing teams. You will bridge innovation engineering with high-volume production, turning concepts into manufacturable solutions and driving continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design cost-effective, scalable processes, support prototype and low-volume builds, and lead swift engineering responses during product builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in process or manufacturing engineering.
• Hands-on knowledge of PCBA, SMT, Wave Soldering and Assembly processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders for smooth project transfer from R&D to Penang.

What You’ll Do:

• Be the bridge between our innovation engineering teams and high-volume production groups, turning creative concepts into manufacturable solutions.

• Evaluate product designs and provide data-driven recommendations to boost process efficiency and quality.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design innovative, cost-effective, and scalable manufacturing processes.

• Partner with design engineers to develop prototype and low-volume build processes , ensuring smooth technology transfer.

• Lead quick-reaction engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve challenges during product builds.

• Define, implement, and sustain robust and repeatable process parameters for high-quality manufacturing.

• Conduct root cause analyses and drive continuous improvement across production lines.

• Apply statistical process control (SPC) and analytical tools to monitor and optimize performance and yield.

• Champion safety, productivity, and throughput enhancements , creating a culture of operational excellence.

• Innovate and refine manufacturing techniques to expand Flex’s in-house capabilities and improve yield outcomes.

• Develop and maintain clear process documentation and training materials.

• Support technology transfers by delivering hands-on training to production personnel.

• Participate in PFMEA and DFMEA to ensure design and process reliability from concept to completion.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in process or manufacturing engineering.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of PCBA, SMT, Wave Soldering, and Assembly processes.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in coordinating with multi stake-holders to ensure smooth project transfer from R&D, Dongguan factory to Penang
