Premium Sound Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced NPI/Manufacturing Engineer to lead new product introductions, coordinate feasibility studies, and drive ramp-up to mass production. You will support process, jig, and equipment design, manage SAP routing, and oversee production efficiency improvements across global projects.
The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, hands-on problem solving, and willingness to travel overseas as needed.
1. New Project Introduction (NPI)
Support RFQ, business case analysis, and P&L simulation (labor productivity, OEE, scrap rate, and investment planning).
Participate in feasibility studies for new PCP/PPCP projects.
Support process, jig, and equipment design, including project handover and PPAP buy-off.
Support equipment FAT and SAT activities for locally sourced equipment.
Manage BOM approval in both physical records and SAP.
Lead new production line and equipment setup and release.
Review and approve initial process engineering documentation and SAP routing.
Lead trial runs, analyze results, drive closure of open issues, and report performance.
Ensure successful project launches within target timelines.
Handover projects from NPI to Mass Production (MP) upon achievement of ramp-up targets.
Ensure standardized work processes are implemented and reflected in SAP routing.
2. Production Capacity & Capability Improvement
Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and optimize shop floor layouts.
Drive line balancing, takt time, cycle time, manpower, and space planning.
Develop short-term and long-term capacity planning.
Support N+1 and N-1 production models.
Maintain and update SAP engineering routing data.
3. Process Quality & Continuous Improvement
Ensure products comply with PSS standards through process quality controls and error-proofing solutions.
Manage design, implementation, and monitoring of jigs and equipment.
Lead product and process issue investigations, including corrective and preventive actions.
Manage engineering changes and engineering sample processes.
Act as 8D Leader for assigned internal and external quality incidents.
Participate in QRQC, escalation, and response activities.
Support standardized work audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in NPI and Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience in overseas transfer projects and working with global teams.
Knowledge of IATF 16949 Core Tools, new product/process introduction, capacity planning, line balancing, OEE, and productivity improvement.
Proficient in problem-solving tools such as 5 Why, DOE, DMAIC, and 8D.
Able to use CAD software for jig and fixture design.
Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage.
Team player with strong communication skills, hands-on approach, and attention to detail.
Willing to travel overseas when required.
