Job summary

Robert Bosch Semiconductor Manufacturing Penang Sdn. Bhd. is expanding at the Batu Kawan site to support advanced sensor and semiconductor testing.

The Process and Equipment Engineer will perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults in PCBs and measurement electronics, and work with suppliers to optimise equipment performance and yield. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and hands-on ability to repair and calibrate high-precision equipment, with cross-functional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic).
  • Able to analyse and repair PCB and equipment.
  • Able to work in a team for transferring technical know-how.
  • Able to perform technical discussions with equipment suppliers and engineering.
  • Understand correlations between quality, cost and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance according to the maintenance plan on machines and calibration.
  • Investigate equipment downtime and carry out mechanical, electrical and electronic repairs.
  • Identify and repair faults on measurement boards and PCBs.
  • Align equipment mechanically and electrically per supplier specs.
  • Adapt circuit diagrams per engineering specifications.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on scheduling and technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with engineering to reduce failures, improve quality and output, and lower costs.
  • Analyze carrier failures and perform necessary repairs and maintenance.

Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and soon a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors. In 2020, Bosch Malaysia generated consolidated sales of RM 518.4 million (108.1 million euros), and currently employs more than 4,000 associates.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

Perform maintenance according to maintenance plan on machine and calibration.

Investigate equipment downtime, carry out comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs, and certify equipment readiness according to engineering specifications.

Identify and repair faults on measurement boards and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).

Align equipment mechanically and electrically in accordance with supplier specifications.

Autonomous adaption and extension of circuit diagrams according to engineering specification

Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling and addressing equipment supplier inquiries, including deadline monitoring and technical discussions.

Collaborate with engineering to develop strategies for reducing failures, enhancing quality and output, and lowering costs.

Analyze carrier failures, perform necessary repairs, and conduct carrier maintenance.

Placing into operation of carriers according to specification.

Ensure all modifications are approved and aligned with lead plant engineering.

8D responsibility and hold lots dispose.

Instruction of Operators in alignment with production Mgmt.

Perform duties within the production environment.

Support FMEA and Control Plan.

Guarantee the availability of necessary spare parts.

Execute any other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's DegreeinEngineering (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, etc.)
