Job summary

A STAR Advanced Technologies Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support NPI, product development, tooling and supplier development across Southeast Asia.

You will design mechanical components using 3D CAD, review drawings, and lead DFM and production launches from kickoff through first article and mass production. The role requires experience with plastics and metals, GD&T familiarity, and strong English; Chinese and Malay language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• 3–8 years of engineering, NPI or manufacturing experience.
• Experience with plastic (primary) and/or metal components.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Good English communication skills; Chinese and Malay helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings, specifications and BOMs.
• Lead DFM reviews and identify manufacturing risks before tooling.
• Coordinate with Sourcing, Quality, Program Management, suppliers and customers to milestones.
• Coordinate prototype builds, tooling trials, first article builds and production readiness.
• Support FAI, qualification and customer approval activities.
• Work with suppliers on mold, tooling and production trials.
• Troubleshoot issues and drive root-cause corrective actions.
