The NPI Buyer will work primarily to support the buying and planning responsibilities for a variety of materials, used in complex product designs in an engineering design environment. Work assignments range from tactical to complex, requiring motivation, discretion, independent judgment and diverse problem-solving methods.
Create and manage purchase orders and requests for quotes to include technical documents, pricing, delivery and key milestones to ensure on-time receipt of material Analyze, adjust and optimize product and component inventory levels to coincide with design project schedules and/or manufacturing demand and lead time changes. Able to understand and respond to MRP signals including maintenance of MRP parameters (lot/ order size, lead time and safety stock). Coordinate with Supplier Quality on quality issues to ensure immediate intervention and resolution.
