Job summary

Maybank is seeking a procurement category specialist to develop and execute category strategies for non-technology spend, and to lead the tendering process through RFI/RFP/RFQ. You will drive strategic sourcing and negotiations, monitor supplier performance, and ensure governance and compliance across contracts.

The role requires analysing market drivers, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering measurable value and savings for the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain or related discipline.
• Proven track record executing complex technology sourcing initiatives and delivering measurable savings and compliance outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for assigned non-technology spend categories.
• Lead the tendering process through RFI, RFP and RFQ.
• Lead strategic sourcing and negotiations for the category.
• Monitor performance measurement for each supply relationship and review bids.
• Manage renewal or extension of contracts and ensure procurement governance and compliance.
• Investigate and analyse market drivers to assess supplier suitability and savings opportunities.
• Provide analytical support by managing data gathering to define scope and build category profiles.
• Acquire and analyse spend and performance data and publish reports with Procurement Managers.
• Partner with business stakeholders to capture requirements and categorise potential suppliers.
• Advise and implement strategies to develop best procurement practices and drive value.

Job description

• Develop and execute category strategies for assigned non-technology spend categories, and lead the tendering process through Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ).
• Lead strategic sourcing and negotiations for the category, monitor performance measurement for each assigned supply relationship, and review bids and perform auctions for tenders.
• Manage the renewal or extension of contracts, negotiate and verify commercial terms, and ensure procurement governance and compliance.
• Investigate and analyse market and supply base drivers to assess supplier suitability and identify value and savings opportunities.
• Provide analytical support by managing information and data gathering to capture business requirements, define scope and build category profiles.
• Acquire and analyse spend and performance data, collate reporting and agree publication plans with Procurement Managers.
• Partner with business stakeholders to capture business and service requirements and scope, and categorise potential suppliers using appropriate tools.
• Understand the commercial factors, advise and implement strategies to develop best procurement practices and drive optimum value for the category.
