Job summary

Shinjiru Technology Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an energetic IT intern to support day-to-day operations and service delivery within our hosting services.

You will assemble and manage servers, configure Linux/Windows/macOS OSs, and handle networking basics under supervision.

This internship includes hands-on experience with control panels (Plesk, cPanel, VestaCP) and monitoring VPS/dedicated servers, with weekday hours and potential weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT preferred.
• Understanding of technologies used in large organizations to deliver IT services.

• Ability to work independently with a goal-oriented mindset.
• Rotational weekend duty if required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and manage servers and related hardware.
• Configure and maintain server OSs (Linux, Windows Server, macOS).
• Manage IP addressing and firewall rules at network level.
• Monitor hosted services (VPS and dedicated servers) and ensure uptime.
• Optimize service performance and respond to issues as needed.

Job description

High teamwork spirit and sense of responsibility to ensure a smooth day-to-day operation task given by your superior.

Assembling and managing servers this includes:

Hardware: This includes knowledge of Server components, such as CPUs, RAM, and storage devices.

Operating systems: This includes knowledge of Linux (e.g. CentOS, Almalinux, Ubuntu, Debian), Windows server, and macOS operating systems.

Networking: This includes knowledge of network concepts, such as IP addressing and routing. Managing rules on the network-level firewall.

Security: This includes knowledge of security concepts, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

Software: This includes knowledge of common software applications, such as Microsoft Office.

Control Panel: Configuration of server control panels (e.g. Plesk, cPanel, CWP, VestaCP).

Monitoring: Manage and monitor hosted services such as VPS and dedicated servers.

This includes ensuring that the services are up and running, resolving any issues that may arise, and optimizing the performance of the services.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Service Delivery Management and Service Delivery knowledge.

Ability to manage customer expectations and ensure overall customer satisfaction

Skills in analyzing data to monitor customer performance and identify trends and areas for improvement in service delivery

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related experience is preferred

Understanding of technologies used in large organizations to deliver IT services.

Basic knowledge in operating systems such as Linux, and Windows server OS.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Ability to work independently with a goal-oriented mindset.

Able to work Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM or more depending on the task given with rotational weekend duty.
