Job summary

Businesslist seeks a commercially astute retail leader to steer nationwide store operations and deliver sustainable growth. You will define strategy, drive revenue and profitability, and lead multi-site teams across a fast-paced consumer environment.

The role requires 15+ years of leadership experience in retail or related sectors, with a track record of transformation and strong collaboration across functions. Healthcare/Pharma or FMCG exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Business, Retail, Healthcare, Pharmacy, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within retail or consumer-facing industries.
• Proven track record managing large-scale retail operations across multiple locations (100+ sites).
• Strong commercial acumen with experience driving business performance and profitability.
• Demonstrated success leading growth, transformation, or operational improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall retail strategy to support business growth and long-term objectives.
• Drive revenue, profitability, and operational performance across a nationwide store network.
• Lead and inspire retail operations teams to achieve strong commercial and customer outcomes.
• Champion initiatives that enhance customer experience, loyalty, and brand positioning.
• Partner with commercial and support functions to optimise product assortment, pricing, and promotional effectiveness.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for market expansion, network development, and business growth.
• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, productivity enhancement, and execution discipline.
• Lead business transformation initiatives, including digital and omnichannel development.
• Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management practices across retail operations.
• Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitive developments to identify emerging opportunities.
• Build a high-performance culture through effective leadership, coaching, and talent development.
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership to shape strategic priorities and deliver organisational objectives.
