Job summary

Zebra Technologies in Penang, Malaysia seeks an Accountant to maintain financial statement integrity for APAC entities and manage month-end close. You will handle general ledger activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with AR, AP, Payroll, FP&A, and other teams across regions.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely close, and cross‑functional teamwork, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; ACCA/CPA adds advantage.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in an MNC.
• Knowledge of transfer pricing and treasury is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle ERP and BI tools like Power BI is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills; Mandarin is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Managing daily general accounting activities.
• Performing month-end activities and prepares financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, profit‑and‑loss, and other accounting statements and participates in regional financial statement reviews.
• Prepares and maintains records of general ledger accounts and all journal entries necessary for monthly close, monthly account reconciliations and investigates reconciling items.
• Maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., U.S. GAAP, SOX, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures, inclusive of local regulations).
• Drives US and statutory accounting GAAP compliance, conversant in IFRS and US GAAP and the impacts to statutory accounting.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional internal and external stakeholders across geographies.
• Responsible for all statutory filings (annual accounts, direct and indirect tax returns, statistics, etc.), and coordinating the approach with external service providers.
• Collaborating with other departments - AR, AP, Payroll, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, Facilities, etc.
• Contributes to innovation ideas.
• Participates in projects and company initiatives, process improvements and ad hoc assignments.
