Rosti IMS Sdn Bhd in Senai, Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Molding Technician to control and maintain the injection molding process, ensuring production targets, product quality and process efficiency. You will set up and operate injection molding machines, adjust parameters, troubleshoot defects, and collaborate with QA, Production, and Engineering to sustain KPI targets.

Responsible for controlling and maintaining the injection molding process to ensure production targets, product quality, and process efficiency are consistently achieved. The Molding Technician will be expected to have strong hands‑on experience and technical knowledge in injection molding machine operation, machine parameter setting, process troubleshooting, and quality problem analysis.
The role will also support molding efficiency, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production KPIs.
Set up and operate injection molding machines according to approved process parameters, work instructions, and production requirements.
Check and set the correct machine parameters, including injection speed, pressure, temperature, holding pressure, cooling time, and other relevant process settings.
Monitor and control molding process parameters throughout mass production to ensure stable processes and consistent product quality.
Troubleshoot injection molding process issues such as short shots, flash, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, flow marks, dimensional issues, and other molding defects.
Analyze molding and quality problems, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor machine and process performance to minimize scrap, downtime, defects, and production interruptions.
Ensure production output and quality requirements are achieved in accordance with established KPIs.
Carry out basic preventive maintenance and ensure machines, molds, and related equipment are maintained in good working condition.
Work closely with QA, Production, Engineering, and other relevant departments to resolve process and quality issues.
Support process improvement, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement activities to improve molding efficiency and productivity.
Maintain accurate records of machine settings, process parameters, production issues, and corrective actions.
Ensure all molding activities comply with company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Plastics Technology, or a related technical field.
Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in injection molding, preferably in a manufacturing environment producing plastic parts and assemblies.
Strong practical experience and technical knowledge in operating and setting up injection molding machines.
Experienced in machine parameter setting, process adjustment, troubleshooting, and defect analysis.
Good understanding of injection molding processes, molds/tooling, plastic materials, and common molding defects.
Able to identify root causes of molding and quality problems and take effective corrective actions.
Experience in mold/tooling trial and process optimization will be an advantage.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement practices.
Able to work independently, troubleshoot problems effectively, and respond quickly to production issues.
Good teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Willing to work shifts and support production requirements when required.
