Responsibilities

• Set up, change, and maintain injection molding machines to meet production targets.
• Check machines run according to loading plan and ensure safety and quality.
• Prepare work area and arrange tooling for the job.
• Train operators in proper handling of machines and safety measures.
• Maintain room and equipment housekeeping and report damages.
• Manage mold removal and servicing after production runs.
• Maintain stock levels of consumables and report shortages.
• Ensure proper reporting of molding-related activities and quality compliance.
• Discuss process improvements with superiors for efficiency.

The Role

The Mold Setter is responsible for setting up, changing, and maintaining injection molding machines to ensure production runs efficiently, safely, and meets quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Check and ensure all machines are running according to the loading plan.

Prepare work area and arrange right fooling for the right job.

Proper set-up of equipment and machinery to ensure that the job done meet products specification and quality standards.

Train operators in proper handling of machines and equipment, and explain their function, uses and safety measures to observe.

Ensures all operators with adequate and proper working materials at all time.

Check work done in own section periodically to ensure good quality

Enforce discipline to see that rules and regulations of the company are not violated.

Remove mold after production run and send mould for servicing.

Clean and rearrange machine for next MO.

Arrange and maintain mold setter tool and equipment and report any damages to superior.

Responsible for consumable items stock level and report shortage to superior with regards of lead time of each particular item.

Ensure proper administration of quality.

Responsible for proper reporting all molding related activities.

Maintain high standard of production housekeeping.

Discuss and request material preparation with Motan technician.

Report significant changing in process to superior.

Discuss with superior ideas to get the process done more effectively and efficiently.

Ensure that safe working methods are adopted at all times and caution all employees against unsafe act.

Any other duties as and when assigned by the Head of Department/Superior.

Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mold Setter in an injection molding environment.

Able to read basic technical drawings.

Willing to work rotating day and night shifts.

Qualifications

Degree Professional Technical Certificate or Diploma in Plastic, Engineering (Mechanical engineering), engineering (mechatronic/electromechanical), engineering (others), others or equivalent.
