Job summary

Fitson Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a skilled mould fabrication engineer to lead new mould development, fabricate jigs and mechanical parts, and support tool design for plastic injection processes. You will modify existing moulds, perform preventive maintenance, set up EDM and CNC milling, interpret blueprints, and oversee machining plans to improve efficiency and reduce defects.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / STPM / Diploma / Advanced /Degree holders or its equivalent.
• 2–5 years experience in plastic injection mould fabrication industry.
• Experienced in fabricating new moulds and repairing moulds.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools such as AutoCAD, UG, SolidWorks, Pro-E.

Responsibilities

• New mould development and fabrication and fabricate jigs and mechanical parts.
• Modification of existing moulds and mould preventive maintenance and servicing or repair.
• Machines maintenance and servicing and provide engineering support to existing plastic injection moulding manufacturing processes and operations for better efficiency and technical trouble shooting.
• Assist Department Manager in mould development and fabrication process.
• Undertake enhancement of existing tooling to improve machine and mould efficiency with the aim to reduce reject rate.
• Responsible for machine set-up and operation of EDM and CNC Milling to produce precision parts.
• Interpreted technical blueprints and designs to understand the specifications and requirements of a part.
• Plan and monitor machining job according to project master plan issued by Project Engineer.
• Carry out machining job effectively and efficiently and meet quality & delivery requirements.
• Conducted regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC & EDM machines, ensuring it operates smoothly and efficiently.
• Feedback process quality problem to supervisor for corrective action.
• Maintain good 5S housekeeping in toolroom operations area and safety precautions are always taken care.
• Maintain documentation of daily operation.

What do you need do in this role:

New mould development and fabrication and fabricate jigs and mechanical parts.

Modification of existing moulds as well as mould preventive maintenance and servicing or repair.

Machines maintenance and servicing and provide engineering support to existing plastic injection moulding manufacturing processes and operations for better efficiency and technical trouble shooting.

What do you need to have to be successful in this role:

Minimum SPM / STPM / Diploma / Advanced /Degree holders or its equivalent.

At least 2 - 5 years experience in plastic injection mould fabrication industry.

Experienced in fabricating new moulds and repairing moulds.

Added advantage with using CAD and CAM softwares i.e. AutoCad, UG, Solidworks, Pro-E, etc.
