JOB PURPOSE

A middle school Robotics & Creative Technologies teacher is a program builder that inspires students to become curious innovators and problem-solvers by blending technical skills with artistic design. By guiding young learners through hands‑on experiences—such as coding, robotics, 3D design, digital media, and engineering challenges—they transform theoretical science and math into tangible projects. Beyond teaching software and tools, a middle school Robotics & Creative Tech educator fosters critical thinking, collaborative teamwork, and iterative learning, empowering students to embrace failure as part of the creative process while preparing them for an increasingly digital world.

RESPONSIBILITIES inclusive but not limited to:

• Developing engaging and effective curriculum and lesson plans that align with the school's educational goals and standards including designing learning activities that incorporate a range of instructional technologies, tools, and resources to help students develop their technical and creative skills

• Facilitate student learning by delivering lessons, providing feedback on assignments, and supporting students in their individual learning journeys

• To assess students progress, tracking student performance, and providing individualized support to help students meet their learning goals

• Remain up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure that the curriculum and teaching practices remain relevant and effective

• Promote responsible and ethical use of technology among ISKL students, including topics such as artificial intelligence, online safety, privacy, and cybersecurity

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the school administration

Technical skills

• Strong foundation in technical skills, along with excellent communication, organizational, and pedagogical skills to effectively teach and support ISKL students in their individual creative and technical courses

• Deep understanding of coding, computer sciences, programming, and robotics

• Good problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to students in resolving technical problems

Note about Scope of Position

In addition to teaching Robotics & Creative Technologies, all members of our Middle School faculty serve as advisors and homegroup leaders during the school day. All faculty members also participate in Malaysia Week, a week‑long opportunity for students to leave the classroom and explore our beautiful host nation. Additionally, faculty are asked to lead at least one after school activity or sport each year.
