Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking an experienced Operations Specialist to join our payments and reporting team in Kuala Lumpur. You will perform data entry and approval of payment instructions, screen transactions, and ensure timely, accurate reporting.

You will collaborate with business partners, communicate via email or phone, and maintain compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements, including mandatory training and EUC/automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance or equivalent related qualification.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a financial institution, preferably branch operations or payment centre.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of BNM policies and AML/CFT guidelines.

Job Description

• Perform data entry and/or approval of payment instructions, as well as transaction screening.
• Prepare and submit relevant reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Work closely with business partners and communicate via email or telephone, where required, to ensure task completion.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal procedures and regulatory requirements, including the timely completion of mandatory training assigned by the organization.
• Possess knowledge of EUC (End-User Computing) and automation tools to support process improvements and operational efficiency.

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance or a recognized professional tertiary qualification in related field and/or with related experience
• Minimum 5 years working experience in Financial Institution, preferably branch operations or payment centre.
• Team player, strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Conversant in English, demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
• Committed, self-motivated and a team player
• Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications i.e Excel, Words, Power Point
• Good understanding on BNM policies i.e Foreign Exchange Policy, ESS Guidelines, Rentas / MYR Settlement Operational Procedures and BNM AML/CFT Guidelines
