Job summary

United Overseas Bank Malaysia (UOB) in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Operations and Payments professional to handle payment instructions, screening, and reporting. The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with business partners.

The successful candidate will have a Banking & Finance degree, 5+ years in a financial institution, and strong English communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with BNM guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a financial institution, preferably branch operations or payment centre.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Conversant in English, with effective written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of BNM policies (FX Policy, ESS Guidelines, Rentas/MyR Settlement Procedures) and AML/CFT guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and/or approval of payment instructions, as well as transaction screening.
• Prepare and submit relevant reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Work closely with business partners and communicate via email or telephone to ensure task completion.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal procedures and regulatory requirements, including mandatory training.
• Possess knowledge of EUC (End-User Computing) and automation tools to support process improvements and operational efficiency.

Job Description

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance or a recognized professional tertiary qualification in related field and/or with related experience
• Minimum 5 years working experience in Financial Institution, preferably branch operations or payment centre.
• Team player, strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Conversant in English, demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
• Committed, self-motivated and a team player
• Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications i.e Excel, Words, Power Point
• Good understanding on BNM policies i.e Foreign Exchange Policy, ESS Guidelines, Rentas / MYR Settlement Operational Procedures and BNM AML/CFT Guidelines
