Job Description
The Messaging Services Advisor applies a wide application of theories, concepts, and principles in identifying customer needs and managing and supporting systems. The role provides steady state support to the email and collaboration infrastructure, handling on‑call support responsibilities, handling escalations, critical issues, upgrade and maintenance activities. The advisor is an expert on M365 services, including Exchange Online, security and compliance within the M365 ecosystem, Defender for O365, and Enterprise Vault. A customer‑centric approach with a focus on delivering high‑quality support is required.

- Good working knowledge and demonstrated ability utilizing systems, tools, and procedures to accomplish the job.

Technical Skillset
- Provide advanced support for various M365 services, including Exchange Online and Microsoft Purview administration; resolve complex technical issues and ensure minimal disruption to end users.
- Technical knowledge in data governance, security, and compliance, specifically focusing on data classification, sensitivity labeling, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and insider risk management within Microsoft 365.
- Configuring and fine‑tuning anti‑phishing, anti‑spam, and anti‑malware policies in Defender for Office 365.
- Hands‑on experience in managing and administering Enterprise Vault, including archiving policies, indexing, and storage management.
- Managing and maintaining the M365 environment, ensuring it is secure, up‑to‑date, and compliant with organizational policies; performing regular system monitoring, maintenance, and optimization tasks.
- Implementing and managing security measures to protect the M365 environment from threats; ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies, including data protection and privacy regulations.
- Maintaining thorough documentation of the M365 environment, including configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures; generating regular reports on system performance, usage, and security.
- Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and performance of M365 services.
- Working closely with other teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of M365 services; providing training and guidance to junior IT staff on the effective use of M365 tools.
- Knowledge of ITSM tools/platforms to perform request, incident, change, and problem management.
- Steady‑state support to the messaging infrastructure, handling on‑call responsibilities, complex issues, escalations, and server maintenance activities.
- Staying up to date with the latest M365 features, updates, and best practices.
- Identifying opportunities for improving M365 service delivery and user experience.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience with Exchange Online and Microsoft Purview.
- Microsoft 365 certification preferred.
