Job summary

SCHOTT Glass (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an MES Engineer to lead the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of MES systems on the shop floor in Penang. You will collaborate with Production, Supply Chain and IT, ensuring data integrity and reliable reporting to drive OEE and downtime improvements.

The role requires a strong background in MES, data pipelines, and cross-system integration, with a focus on Industry 4.0 initiatives and digital transformation across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of MES end-to-end implementation experience in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of MES framework, master data, configurations and workflows.
• Experience with SAP, PLC and SCADA integrations.
• Proficient in reporting/data-visualization tools (Power BI, Grafana).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, maintain and upgrade MES and related applications.
• Gather requirements from Production, Supply Chain, Quality and stakeholders.
• Support integration and data flow between MES, SAP, SCADA, and machines.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows.
• Ensure MES data accuracy, consistency and reliability.
• Transform raw production data into structured information for reporting.
• Develop production reports and dashboards for KPIs (OEE, yield, downtime).
• Analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Identify and resolve MES-related issues; coordinate with IT and vendors.
