Job summary

GenBlu is seeking a results-driven Merchant Acquisition Specialist in Petaling Jaya to recruit, onboard, and manage a growing network of merchants for our rewards platform. You will lead outreach, pitches, and relationship development to drive merchant participation and campaign success.

You will coordinate with Marketing, Loyalty and Events teams to ensure campaigns are attractive and mutually beneficial for merchants and customers, building long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Merchant Acquisition, Partnerships, or Key Account Management.
• Strong prospecting, pitching, and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing client or merchant relationships.
• Comfortable with cold calling, walk-ins, and field sales.
• Basic sales reporting and pipeline management.
• Experience acquiring merchants, retailers, F&B outlets, SMEs, or lifestyle brands.
• Background in loyalty, rewards, fintech, e-wallets, marketplaces, delivery platforms, or consumer apps.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Find and approach potential merchants.
• Present GenBlu's partnership benefits and close deals.
• Onboard merchants into the platform.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of merchant prospects.
• Focus on merchants such as F&B, retail, convenience stores, workshops, petrol stations, lifestyle businesses, and e-commerce sellers.
• Generate leads through cold calls, walk-ins, referrals, events, social media, and online research.
• Track and manage sales activities and follow-ups.
• Consistently convert prospects into active merchants.
• Explain how GenBlu helps merchants attract new customers and increase repeat business.
• Present partnership packages and campaign opportunities.
• Negotiate commercial terms and secure merchant participation.
• Collect required merchant information and agreements.
• Coordinate campaign setup, promotions, and merchant listing details.
• Ensure merchants are ready before campaign launch.
• Work closely with internal teams for activation.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing merchants.
• Conduct regular follow-ups and performance reviews.
• Resolve merchant issues and gather feedback.
• Encourage participation in new campaigns and promotions.
• Identify opportunities to increase merchant engagement.
• Support merchant campaigns, promotions, and events.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Loyalty, Commercial, and Events teams.
• Ensure campaigns are attractive, simple, and beneficial for both merchants and customers.
