Job description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Merchandiser Specialist to help establish and strengthen the brand's presence in Malaysia. Key responsibilities

A. Store Merchandising

Analyze and align store layouts with the Japan headquarters' merchandising guidelines and brand sales strategies.

Advise the dedicated VMD team on product zoning, collection placement, and optimal display areas.

Oversee product displays to ensure high visibility and commercial effectiveness based on sales performance and seasonal requirements.

Conduct regular store checks to ensure merchandising standards and promotional launches are executed according to company intentions.

B. Stock & Product Management

Monitor product availability and stock levels at assigned retail stores.

Identify fast-moving, slow-moving, overstocked and understocked products and provide recommendations to the relevant department.

Coordinate stock replenishment and stock transfers between retail stores and warehouse when required.

Assist with product allocation based on store requirements, sales performance and merchandising plans.

Conduct stock checks and report stock discrepancies, damaged merchandise, missing items or other stock-related issues.

Work closely with Store Operations and Warehouse teams to ensure timely replenishment and proper product availability.

Monitor product sales performance and movement to support merchandising decisions.

Review basic sales and stock reports to identify product trends, stock issues and sales opportunities.

Recommend changes to product placement, display arrangement, stock allocation and replenishment based on sales performance.

Provide feedback on customer preferences, product performance and store merchandising conditions.

Work closely with the Retail Operations team to improve product presentation and maximise sales opportunities.

D. Promotions & New Product Launches

Support the implementation of promotional campaigns, seasonal campaigns and new product launches.

Ensure promotional products, displays, signage and merchandising materials are properly arranged and maintained.

Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure products and promotional materials are available before campaign commencement.

Ensure stores follow the Company's merchandising guidelines during promotional periods and new product launches.

Conduct store checks and follow up on any merchandising issues identified during campaigns.

E. Warehouse Support

Assist at the Company's warehouse when required for stock checking, sorting, preparation, replenishment or store transfers.

Coordinate with warehouse personnel on product availability and stock movement when necessary.

F. Store Visits & Coordination

Conduct regular visits to assigned retail stores to monitor merchandising standards, product presentation and stock availability.

Communicate merchandising instructions clearly to Store Managers, Supervisors and retail staff.

Follow up on merchandising issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented within the required timeframe.

Coordinate with Store Operations, Warehouse, Purchasing, Marketing and other relevant departments to ensure smooth merchandising operations.

Provide regular feedback and reports to the Brand Manager / HOD on store conditions, product performance, stock issues and merchandising activities.

Ensure all assigned stores comply with the Company's merchandising standards, promotional requirements and operational instructions.

Perform any other duties and responsibilities reasonably assigned by the Company, Manager or HOD from time to time.
