Job summary

GBS Marketing Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Merchandiser to join our retail and consumer products team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This full-time role focuses on optimising product placement, visibility and sales performance across our retail locations.

You will plan displays, monitor stock, collaborate with store managers and sales to develop promotions, analyse sales data and deliver on-brand visual merchandising that drives customer engagement and revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Diploma or HNC in Business/Marketing/Retail Management or related field.
• Strong merchandising principles and retail management knowledge.
• Ability to interpret sales data and translate insights into merchandising actions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor merchandise displays across designated retail locations to ensure optimal product visibility and appeal.
• Conduct regular stock audits and inventory checks to maintain accurate product availability and identify replenishment needs.
• Collaborate with store managers and sales teams to develop promotional strategies and seasonal campaigns.
• Analyse sales data and customer behaviour patterns to inform merchandising decisions.
• Create on-brand visual displays and monitor adherence to company guidelines.
• Monitor competitor strategies and market trends for opportunities.
• Train retail staff on product knowledge, standards, and promotions.
• Prepare detailed merchandising reports and KPIs to track impact and effectiveness.
• Ensure health, safety and policy compliance across retail environments.

About the role

GBS Marketing Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Merchandiser to join our retail and consumer products team. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As a Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in optimising product placement, visibility and sales performance across our retail locations. Your work will directly impact customer experience and drive revenue growth by ensuring our products are strategically positioned and presented to maximise consumer engagement and purchasing decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor merchandise displays across designated retail locations to ensure optimal product visibility and appeal
• Conduct regular stock audits and inventory checks to maintain accurate product availability and identify replenishment needs
• Collaborate with store managers and sales teams to develop effective promotional strategies and seasonal merchandise campaigns
• Analyse sales data and customer behaviour patterns to inform merchandising decisions and product placement recommendations
• Create and maintain attractive, on-brand visual displays that align with company guidelines and marketing objectives
• Monitor competitor merchandise strategies and market trends to identify opportunities for competitive advantage
• Train and support retail staff on product knowledge, merchandising standards and promotional initiatives
• Prepare detailed merchandising reports and performance metrics to track sales impact and campaign effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and company policies across all retail environments

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Merchandiser or similar retail management role, ideally within the consumer products or retail sector
• Strong understanding of retail merchandising principles, visual merchandising techniques and point-of-sale strategies
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and translate insights into actionable merchandising strategies
• Outstanding organisational and project management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple retail locations simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and take initiative whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Physical capability to lift and move merchandise, and willingness to spend time on feet in retail environments
• Diploma or Higher National Certificate in Business, Marketing, Retail Management or related field (preferred)
• Valid driving licence and own reliable transportation (preferred)
