Job summary

Popular Book Co. (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Merchandising Executive/Trainee for the English Merchandising Department to source new products, optimize inventory and drive sales growth.

You will liaise with suppliers on promos, negotiate terms, analyze stock performance and assist in planning activities with Sales & Marketing. Fresh graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• SPM graduates with 2 years working experience or Diploma/ Degree holder in any discipline
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Languages: Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin (added advantage)
• Own transport preferred for travelling

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and buying of new related products to maximize sales and maintain optimal inventory
• Liaise with suppliers on promotional activities and prompt delivery of stocks
• Negotiate with vendors regarding terms, conditions and margins to create competitive edge
• Analyze stock and promotions to determine effectiveness of the product assortment and promotion strategy
• Plan promotional activities merchandise according to line master plans
• Replenishment activities with stores and vendors on product range, promotions mechanics, pricing and aging stocks
• Conduct market surveys and monitor competitors for current market trends and customer preferences
• Assist in setting up new stores and major fairs/events

Merchandising Executive/Trainee - English Merchandising Department

Analyze performance of stock and promotions to determine effectiveness of the product assortment and promotion strategy to drive market share

Work closely with Sales & Marketing Department, assist to plan promotional activities merchandise according to line master plans

Work closely with the stores and vendors on all replenishment activities, product range, promotions mechanics, pricing, and aging stocks

To conduct market survey & visit competitors constantly for current market trend analysis and customer preferences

Assist in the setting up of new stores and major fairs/ events

Job Requirement:

SPM graduates with 2 years working experience/ Diploma Holder/ Degree holder in any discipline

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin as an added advantage.

Self-motivated, a team player with a positive working attitude

Keen interest in retail and enjoy meeting people
