Job summary

Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support reliability, efficiency, and performance of smelter operations. You will inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment to ensure safe plant operations and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

You will supervise mechanical technicians, coordinate with contractors, and assist during routine shutdowns while maintaining documentation and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, smelting or process plant.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment (conveyors, pumps, compressors, cranes, furnaces).
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to schedules and requirements.
• Monitor and guide technicians in routine tasks and safety guidelines.
• Assist in identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
• Coordinate maintenance works with contractors and service providers.
• Support plant shutdowns and emergency maintenance activities.
