Job summary

Elsa Talent in Malaysia seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide technical input and execute strategy, delivering engineering services across projects and operations. You will support design, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including protection relays, transformers, switchgear, motors, and UPS.

The role requires reading SLDs and drawings, participating in commissioning, start-up, and handover, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience.
• Conversant with electrical system design, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on knowledge of protection relays, transformers, switchgear, motors, and UPS systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, schematics, and technical documents.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, and/or other electrical simulation software.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, maintenance processes, and reliability practices.
• Experience in petrochemical / Oil & Gas facilities is highly preferred.
• Experience in plant maintenance and turnaround activities will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering and asset integrity/inspection.
• Exposure to EPC, brownfield projects, commissioning, and start-up activities is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance documentation and provide technical recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
• Support initiatives to enhance asset reliability, integrity, availability, and operational efficiency.
