Job summary

SSI SCHAEFER in Malaysia seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to oversee the production line maintenance, environmental compliance, and optimization of effluent treatment systems and mechanical equipment across the facility.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years hands-on experience in mechanical system maintenance. You will be responsible for equipment maintenance workflow, troubleshooting, and timely repairs, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in mechanical system maintenance and machinery.
• Proven experience in mechanical scope, testing and fault finding.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain physical-chemical treatment equipment and dosing systems.
• Conduct sampling, in-situ measurements and basic lab tests.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental Quality Act standards.
• Submit effluent performance monitoring reports to management and authorities.
• Manage chemical stocks, lab supplies and spare parts.
• Repair mechanical systems and perform on-the-spot repairs.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and recommend upgrades.
• Test new and existing systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical mechanical equipment.
• Install, operate, and maintain production equipment.
