Job summary

EC Engineering Consultancy Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and coordinate building services for residential, commercial, hotel, and industrial projects in Malaysia. You will handle ACMV, ventilation, fire protection, plumbing, and related systems, while preparing calculations, drawings, and tender docs.

Ideal candidates have a degree in mechanical engineering, familiarity with AutoCAD, and a willingness to attend site visits and meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant building services / M&E consultancy experience will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of mechanical building services and relevant Malaysian standards.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Willing to attend site visits and project meetings when required.
• Candidates with BEM registration / Graduate Engineer status will be an advantage.
• Able to speak, write and read Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate mechanical building services systems, including ACMV, mechanical ventilation, smoke control, fire protection, plumbing, sanitary, and other related systems.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and tender documentation.
• Coordinate M&E works with architects, C&S consultants, interior designers, contractors, suppliers, and specialist consultants.
• Attend project meetings, site inspections, technical discussions, and authority meetings.
• Review contractor's shop drawings, material submissions, technical proposals, and installation works.
• Assist in authority submissions and ensure compliance with relevant Malaysian standards, UBBL, NFPA, and authority requirements.
• Assist with tender evaluation, cost estimation, value engineering, testing and commissioning, and project handover.
• Provide technical support and engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
