Job summary

Powermatics Hydraulics & Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive project planning and execution for hydraulic systems. You will review specifications, assign responsibilities, and coordinate with suppliers to align timeframes and budgets.

The role requires the ability to interpret design drawings, manage material requisitions, and maintain progress to ensure on-time completion. Mandarin proficiency is preferred to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
• Capable of thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a willingness to embrace new challenges and opportunities for growth.
• Candidates who are proficient in Mandarin are preferred, as the role requires communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develops project plan by reviewing project specification and conferring with related key personnel.
• Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing quotation from suppliers.
• Determines project schedule by analyzing project plan, calculating time requirements, manpower arrangement & sequencing project elements.
• Understand design drawings and raise material requisition or utilize balance stock for raw material such as steel products.
• Ensure on time project completion by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems and monitor the project budget throughout the project timeline.
• Arrange and involve in testing and inspection of final products.
• Communicate with sales and customers regarding updates and inquiries regarding each project, as well as to resolve and follow up on any customer complaints.
• Make arrangement with client and third party for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and to prepare FAT procedures.
