About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join Duragate Engineering & Services Sdn Bhd in Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and solutions for our diverse range of projects. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and reliability of our engineering deliverables, contributing significantly to the success of our operations and the satisfaction of our clients.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies using computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering principles

Conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to assess project requirements and propose cost-effective solutions

Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for manufacturing and construction purposes

Perform calculations and simulations to verify design integrity, safety standards, and performance criteria

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, technicians, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution

Oversee the manufacturing and installation processes to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards

Conduct testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment to verify functionality and compliance with requirements

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems during operation and maintenance phases

Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient delivery of engineering solutions

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical engineering

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised institution

Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, design, or project management

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent design tools

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles

Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes of practice (ISO, ASME, or local Malaysian standards)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative engineering solutions

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines

Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering work

Professional engineering certification or membership with Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) is desirable

Experience in the oil and gas, manufacturing, or construction sectors is advantageous
