Job summary

Elsa Talent seeks an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to develop and oversee commissioning plans for mechanical systems in oil and gas projects. You will lead the commissioning team, ensure compliance with standards, and coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure safe, timely start-up and turnover.

You will prepare turnover documentation, manage testing procedures, and ensure adherence to quality requirements and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years in oil and gas, with at least 3 years in a similar role.
• Experience in commissioning of oil and gas projects.
• Knowledge of international mechanical standards and design codes.
• Proven competency in testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Familiarity with oil and gas construction practices, project specs, and quality requirements.
• BEM registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
• Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving for multi-disciplinary teams.

Job description

• Develop commissioning plans and procedures for mechanical systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Ensure compliance with project quality procedures, including document control, change control, materials control, field inspection, and testing procedures.
• Lead and coordinate the commissioning team during commissioning and start-up activities.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with approved procedures, project specifications, and safety requirements.
• Prepare, review, and compile all required turnover documentation for formal handover and custody transfer to the Operations team.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable mechanical standards, design codes, project specifications, and oil and gas industry construction practices.

Requirement(s):

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 3 years in a similar role or capacity.
• Relevant engineering and commissioning experience in oil and gas projects.
• Good knowledge of international mechanical standards, applicable design codes, and industry practices.
• Proven competency in testing and commissioning mechanical systems and equipment.
• Familiarity with oil and gas construction practices, project specifications, and quality requirements.
• Must be registered as a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Good leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
