Job summary

Elsa Talent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Kuala Lumpur for a 1-year contract in the Oil & Gas sector.

You will develop commissioning plans for mechanical systems, ensure QA/QC compliance, and lead the commissioning team through startup activities. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years in oil and gas, including 3 years in a similar role, and is familiar with international standards and design codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 6 years of oil and gas experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role.
• Knowledge of international mechanical standards, design codes, and industry practices.
• Proven competency in testing and commissioning mechanical systems and equipment.
• Familiarity with oil and gas construction practices and project specifications.
• Must be registered as a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with project quality procedures including document control, change control, materials control, field inspection, and testing procedures.
• Lead and coordinate the commissioning team during commissioning and start-up activities.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with procedures and specifications.
• Prepare, review, and compile turnover documentation for handover to Operations.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable mechanical standards, design codes, and industry practices.

Job Scope(s):

• Develop commissioning plans and procedures for mechanical systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Ensure compliance with project quality procedures, including document control, change control, materials control, field inspection, and testing procedures.
• Lead and coordinate the commissioning team during commissioning and start-up activities.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with approved procedures, project specifications, and safety requirements.
• Prepare, review, and compile all required turnover documentation for formal handover and custody transfer to the Operations team.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable mechanical standards, design codes, project specifications, and oil and gas industry construction practices.

Requirement(s):

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 3 years in a similar role or capacity.
• Relevant engineering and commissioning experience in oil and gas projects.
• Good knowledge of international mechanical standards, applicable design codes, and industry practices.
• Proven competency in testing and commissioning mechanical systems and equipment.
• Familiarity with oil and gas construction practices, project specifications, and quality requirements.
• Must be registered as a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Good leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
