Job summary

Meinhardt Malaysia invites suitably qualified candidates to design and develop mechanical building services for construction projects, located at Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur. We are a multidisciplinary engineering practice with close to 200 employees and global Meinhardt Group backing.

You will assist the Team Leader, supervise drafting staff, prepare drawings and calculations, and ensure deliverables meet design criteria and ISO quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Registered with BEM as Graduate Engineer.
• Experience in an engineering consulting firm is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical building services systems for projects (ACMV, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
• Assist Team Leader in planning, coordination and execution of works.
• Supervise staff in drawings and technical documentation.
• Prepare sketches, drawings and design calculations.
• Ensure quality and compliance with standards and project criteria.
• Attend design coordination and client meetings and site meetings.

Job description

Job Description:

Design and develop mechanical building services systems for construction and building projects (e.g., ACMV, plumbing, fire protection systems, vertical transportation, etc.);

Assist the Team Leader and Job Captain in the planning, coordination and execution of engineering works;

Supervise and guide subordinate staff in the preparation of drawings and technical documentation;

Prepare and review sketch drawings, engineering drawings and design calculations;

Ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of all design deliverables;

Ensure designs comply with the Project Design Criteria, Client Brief and Approved Concept;

Ensure compliance with relevant engineering codes, design standards, internal office standards and the ISO Quality Procedure Manual;

Attend and participate in design coordination meetings, client meetings, architect meetings and site meetings;

Ensure works are delivered within the project programme and budget constraints;

Carry out other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the Team Leader or Division Manager;

Propose practical improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of engineering works.

Requirements:

At least a bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent AND registered with BEM as Graduate Engineer

Experience in an engineering consulting firm will be an added advantage

Excellent communication skills and a good team player

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Good working attitude and able to handle pressures effectively

Proficiency in AutoCAD or other relevant engineering software is an added advantage
