Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a leading facilities management provider supporting a hyperscale data center in Sedenak, Johor. You will ensure the reliability of cooling and HVAC systems and support operations in a mission-critical environment.

The role includes maintenance, troubleshooting, incident response, and collaboration with vendors, with emphasis on safety, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to site procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-7 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Minimum 1 year in data center or mission-critical facility environment.
• Experience with HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, pumps, or critical facilities operations.
• Familiarity with CRAH/CRAC units and Building Management Systems (BMS) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain critical mechanical systems including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, HVAC equipment, and CRAH/CRAC units
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting activities to ensure equipment reliability and uptime
• Support the operation of mission-critical cooling infrastructure and assist in responding to system alarms, failures, and operational incidents
• Monitor equipment performance through Building Management Systems (BMS) and other monitoring platforms
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors during maintenance, testing, servicing, and repair activities
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs, inspection reports, and operational documentation
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with site safety procedures, operational standards, and company requirements

The Role

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical mechanical infrastructure within a mission-critical data center environment. The role focuses on ensuring the continuous performance of cooling and HVAC systems, supporting maintenance activities, responding to equipment issues, and maintaining safe and efficient facility operations.

• Familiarity with CRAH/CRAC units and Building Management Systems (BMS) is advantageous


• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills


• Willingness to work in a site-based, mission-critical environment in Sedenak, Johor
