Job summary

Wald Engineering Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a CAD Drafter to prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings for metal structures, machinery and components. You will produce fabrication and shop drawings with dimensions, welding symbols, and tolerances, and perform site or workshop measurements for as-built drawings.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or CAD Drafting, 1–3 years drafting experience in metal fabrication, and proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Autodesk

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Drafting, or related field.
• 1–3 years drafting experience in metal fabrication or machinery.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and tolerances.
• Portfolio of previous drawings required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom metal structures, machinery, and components.

Key responsibilities

Prepare accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom metal structures, machinery, and mechanical components

Produce detailed fabrication and shop drawings, including dimensions, materials, welding symbols, and tolerances

Conduct site or workshop visits to measure existing equipment and structures for as-built drawings

Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, and production teams to meet project requirements

Revise drawings according to design changes and manufacturing requirements

Maintain organized drawing files and ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering standards

About you

Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Drafting, or a related field

1–3 years of relevant drafting experience, preferably in metal fabrication or machinery

Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent CAD software

Good understanding of mechanical structures, fabrication processes, and engineering drawings

Able to use measuring tools such as measuring tapes, calipers, and micrometers

Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently as well as in a team

Must provide a portfolio or samples of previous technical drawings
