Job summary

ESTEK Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanical Designer based in Batu Kawan, Penang. You will translate project requirements into detailed mechanical drawings and specifications, ensuring designs meet industry standards and safety regulations for automation projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), and experience in mechanical design for construction or automation environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) for 2D/3D drawings and assemblies.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in producing technical documentation and drawings.
• Familiarity with building codes, safety standards and regulations.
• Good communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with project management tools and version control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
• Develop specifications and technical documentation for components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers, managers and clients to translate requirements into designs.
• Conduct feasibility studies and analyses to optimise performance, cost and manufacturability.
• Review designs against specifications, codes and safety standards.
• Prepare design reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Support contract management with technical documentation and clarifications.
• Coordinate with suppliers/manufacturers to ensure producibility and installability.
• Participate in design reviews and implement feedback.
