Job summary

Monroe Consulting Group partners with a Kuala Lumpur-based organisation in the Engineering Design sector to hire a Mechanical Design & Industrialisation Engineer. The role focuses on developing mechanical solutions from concept to manufacturability and supporting the establishment of a local engineering team.

You will collaborate with regional teams and contract manufacturers to drive design for manufacturing and robust qualification.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or above) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
3-8 years of experience in mechanical design and/or industrialisation (NPI).
Experience taking a design from concept through to manufacturable product.
Experience with prototype testing / test plan execution (preferred).
Experience liaising with contract manufacturers in Malaysia, China, or the wider region (preferred).
ISO 13485 exposure (advantageous).

Responsibilities

Support mechanical design and detailed engineering on development programs
Contribute to industrialisation and DFM reviews ahead of transfer to manufacturing
Support prototype build, test planning, and test execution alongside contract manufacturers
Act as a local technical point of contact in Kuala Lumpur as the team grows
Work closely with Singapore team on shared projects
