Job summary

MTR SOLUTIONS (M) SDN. BHD. in Selangor, Shah Alam, invites a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and support R&D projects from concept to prototype and production.

You will develop 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for new and existing products, translating sketches into detailed mechanical designs. You will select materials and processes, perform calculations, coordinate prototype fabrication and testing, evaluate performance, and work with fabrication to ensure manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support mechanical design and R&D projects from concept to prototype and production.
• Develop 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models for new and existing products.
• Translate concepts, sketches and requirements into detailed mechanical designs.
• Design mechanical components, assemblies, structures and products according to project requirements.
• Conduct design modifications and improvements to enhance product functionality, durability, manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Select appropriate materials, components and manufacturing processes for product development.
• Conduct engineering calculations and basic design analysis where required.
• Develop and coordinate prototype fabrication and testing.
• Evaluate prototype performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Troubleshoot design, fabrication and product-related technical issues.
• Research new technologies, materials, components and manufacturing methods.
• Ensure proper control and documentation of design revisions and engineering changes.
• Perform other R&D and engineering-related duties as assigned.
