Job summary

PEC SE ASIA SDN BHD is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Penang, Malaysia to drive mechanical design from concept through installation. The role works within a cross-functional team of mechanical, software, electronic and automation engineers, reporting to the Mechanical Design lead.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, strong English communication, and familiarity with Design For Manufacturing/Assembly.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills.
• Familiar with Design For Manufacturing and Design For Assembly principles.
• Experience in automation, pneumatics, injection moulding and electricity is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical aspects of assigned projects from concept to installation.
• Work as part of a global cross functional team with mechanical, software, electronic and automation engineers.
• Report to the Mechanical Design lead.
• Encourage new concepts and approaches to the design of new machines.
• Recommend materials and components based on required functionalities.
