Job summary

Keysight Technologies seeks a Mechanical Design and Process Engineer in Penang. The role focuses on designing mechanical components and automation systems, using CAD tools like NX, SolidWorks and Creo, and leading design efforts for pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, and conveyors.

You will conduct simulations, ensure manufacturability, develop prototypes, and collaborate with suppliers to meet cost targets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, with automation systems design experience.
• Strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
• Experience with PLC integration and control systems is desirable.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, welding, 3D printing).

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and systems using CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, Creo).
• Lead design efforts for automation systems involving pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC and conveyors.
• Support non-automation mechanical design tasks such as structures, enclosures, fixtures.
• Conduct simulations and analyses using ANSYS/FEA.
• Ensure manufacturability and reliability through DFx reviews.
• Develop prototypes and perform testing and failure analyses.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers for feasibility and cost targets.
• Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation and process instructions.
• Deliver outputs aligned with project timelines and cost targets.
• Handle diverse mechanical design tasks as needed by scope.
