Job summary

DC Electronics is seeking a seasoned Supply Chain Leader in Malaysia to drive material planning, procurement, and logistics for a high-mix electronics environment. You will coordinate S&OP, maintain ERP data integrity, and lead a team across materials, purchasing, and planning to ensure on-time production and optimal inventory levels.

The role emphasizes supplier development, cost optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with production, engineering, and sales to support OEM/EMS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in SCM, BA, or engineering with strong analytical capability.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing or cable/wire harness supply chains.

Responsibilities

• Lead material planning, S&OP, and demand translation into procurement plans.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Planning

• Develop material planning strategies based on customer forecasts and production schedules.

• Ensure material availability to support production without shortages.

• Balance inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

• Review customer forecasts and convert demand into procurement plans.

• Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities.

Material Planning

• Manage MRP (Material Requirements Planning).

• Review purchase requirements generated by ERP/MRP systems.

• Monitor inventory health and stock turns.

• Control safety stock levels.

• Develop shortage recovery plans.

Purchasing & Procurement

• Lead procurement activities for:

  • Cable

  • Wire

  • Connectors

  • Terminals

  • Plastic parts

  • Metal components

  • Electronic components

  • Packaging materials

• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and contracts.

• Develop strategic sourcing plans.

• Identify alternative suppliers to reduce supply risk.

• Conduct supplier cost reduction initiatives.

Supplier Management

• Evaluate supplier performance using KPIs including:

  • On-Time Delivery (OTD)

  • Quality Performance (PPM)

  • Responsiveness

  • Cost competitiveness

• Conduct supplier business reviews.

• Develop supplier improvement programs.

• Manage supplier escalation during shortages.

Inventory Management

• Maintain optimal inventory levels.

• Monitor inventory accuracy.

• Reduce:

• Lead annual stock count activities.

Production Support

• Coordinate closely with:

Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate inbound logistics.

• Ensure customs documentation compliance.

• Coordinate urgent shipments when required.

Cost Management

• Drive annual material cost reduction programs.

• Monitor purchase price variance (PPV).

• Identify opportunities for supply chain optimization.

• Improve working capital through inventory reduction initiatives.

Risk Management

• Identify supply chain risks.

• Develop dual sourcing strategies.

• Monitor supplier capacity.

• Create business continuity plans.

• Manage supply disruptions caused by geopolitical issues, natural disasters, or supplier constraints.

ERP & Systems Management

• Ensure ERP master data accuracy.

• Improve MRP parameters.

• Analyze demand and supply planning reports.

• Support ERP implementation and continuous improvements.

Team Leadership

• Lead the Materials, Purchasing, and Planning teams.

• Coach and develop team members.

• Conduct performance evaluations.

• Build succession plans.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, or procurement within the electronics manufacturing or cable and wire harness industry.

• At least 5 years in a managerial role.

• Experience supporting OEM/EMS customers.

• Experience managing global suppliers.

• Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume and build-to-order manufacturing environments.

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Infor.
