Ocean Vantage Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia seeks a Materials Executive to support material planning, procurement coordination, inventory control and material tracking for engineering, maintenance and projects.
You will ensure materials are available on time, properly tracked, and compliant with project specs and company requirements. You will work with Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse, Operations, Maintenance, QA/QC and contractors to coordinate material needs and optimize availability
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Materials Executive to support material planning, procurement coordination, inventory management, and material control for engineering, maintenance, and project activities. The role will ensure required materials are available on time, properly tracked, and managed in accordance with project schedules, specifications, and Company requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse, Operations, Maintenance, QA/QC, and contractors to coordinate material requirements and ensure efficient material availability and utilization.
Coordinate and monitor material requirements for engineering, maintenance, turnaround, and project activities.
Review material requisitions, specifications, quantities, and required delivery dates.
Coordinate with Procurement and suppliers to monitor material orders and delivery schedules.
Track material status from requisition and purchase through delivery, inspection, and issuance.
Maintain accurate records of material requirements, orders, deliveries, stock levels, and outstanding items.
Monitor material availability against project and maintenance schedules and highlight potential shortages or delays.
Coordinate with Warehouse and relevant departments for proper receipt, storage, identification, and issuance of materials.
Support material inspection and verification activities in coordination with QA/QC and technical teams.
Ensure materials received meet approved specifications, quantities, and documentation requirements.
Prepare material status reports and provide regular updates to Management and relevant stakeholders.
Assist in identifying excess, obsolete, or critical materials and recommend appropriate actions.
Support turnaround/shutdown and project material planning activities when required.
Ensure material management activities comply with Company procedures, HSSE, QA/QC, and project requirements.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.
Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Experience in materials management, procurement, inventory control, project coordination, or a related field will be an advantage.
Good understanding of material planning, procurement processes, inventory management, and logistics.
Ability to read and understand engineering specifications, material descriptions, and technical documents.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with ERP or material management systems will be an advantage.
Strong organizational, analytical, and coordination skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong follow-up and record-keeping abilities.
Able to work independently and effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
