Job summary

Syarikat Thong Guan Trading is seeking a Material Planner to manage material planning to meet production demand and fulfill sales orders. You will issue purchase requisitions, monitor stock levels, coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely material availability.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain or related field, 2–3 years in food industry, and fluency in English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin. Strong analytical skills and MS Excel proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in food industry or related industries.
• Proficiency in English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Issue PR to purchase raw and packing material based on current on-hand balance vs average monthly usage and safety quantity.
• Perform check and balance of on-hand quantity of material to purchase, to determine the receiving date.
• Collaborate with production planner to place ad hoc PR or pull in orders to meet material needs and escalate production for ad hoc orders.
• Liaise with purchaser and supplier for material purchase, arrangement (logistic/self-pickup) and payment requests.
• Monitor and update system on changes of raw and packaging material safety level based on average usage, safety quantity, MOQ and delivery lead time from vendor.
• Reduce inventory level by material category through analysing usage trend vs MOQ to avoid over-purchase or excess stock.
• Monitor material slow-moving report and update management for action to be taken.
• Coordinate with QA for new material or amended versions to avoid wrong material purchase.
• Quarterly update the part purchase under CUSTOM SCHEDULE B for custom submission.
• Perform month end stock count

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience in food industry or relevant industries
• Required language: English, Bahasa Melayu and Mndarin
• Good communication skills to deal with people across the floor
• Good analytic and problem solving skills
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, MS Excel, PowerPoint
• Knowledge in ERP system is an added advantage
