Job summary

IEM Dynamic Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a qualified Material Controller for a refinery project in Bintulu, Sarawak. The contract role requires meticulous receiving, inspection, storage and stock control to support site teams.

You will manage POs/DOs/MR/MRR, coordinate with Procurement, QA/QC, Warehouse and Construction, and keep accurate records while minimizing wastage. A Diploma/Degree in Engineering or SCM and 2–3 years of material control experience are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering or SCM or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of material control or inventory experience.
• Experience in construction/oil & gas projects is an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Excel for inventory tracking.
• Familiarity with PO/DO/MR/MRR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify incoming materials against PO/DO and specs.
• Record, label and store materials in designated areas.
• Maintain stock records of receipts, issues, returns and balances.
• Coordinate material issuance to site teams based on MR approvals.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile inventory records.
• Report shortages, excess stock or delays to the project team.
• Coordinate with procurement, QA/QC, warehouse and construction teams.
• Maintain MR, MRR and inventory reports.
• Monitor material usage to minimise wastage.
• Perform other material-related duties as assigned by Construction Manager.

Job description

IEM Dynamic Sdn. Bhd. is looking for qualified and committed Material Controller to join our team for a refinery project in Bintulu, Sarawak.

Job Type : Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify incoming project materials against Purchase Orders (PO), Delivery Orders (DO), Packing Lists and relevant material specifications.
• Ensure all received materials are properly recorded, identified, labelled and stored in designated storage areas.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of material receipts, issuance, returns, transfers and stock balances.
• Coordinate the issuance and distribution of materials to site personnel and construction teams based on approved Material Requisitions (MR).
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile inventory records to ensure stock accuracy.
• Monitor material availability, identify shortages or excess stock, and report any discrepancies, damages or delayed deliveries to the Project Team.
• Coordinate with the Procurement, QA/QC, Warehouse and Construction Teams to ensure timely availability of project materials.
• Maintain proper material documentation, including Material Receiving Reports (MRR), material tracking logs and inventory reports.
• Monitor material usage and movement to minimise wastage and ensure proper accountability.
• Perform other material-related duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management or any related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years of working experience in material control, inventory management or warehouse operations.
• Experience in construction, oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical or industrial projects will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with material receiving, inspection, storage, issuance and inventory control procedures.
• Knowledge of material documentation such as Purchase Orders (PO), Delivery Orders (DO), Material Requisitions (MR) and Material Receiving Reports (MRR).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, for inventory tracking and reporting.
• Experience using ERP or inventory management systems will be an added advantage.
• Good organizational, documentation and coordination skills with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently, communicate effectively and work under minimal supervision.
