Job summary

IEM Dynamic Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia invites fresh graduates to join our refinery project in Bintulu, Sarawak as Instrument Engineer. You will assist in planning instrumentation works, review drawings, and support commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instrumentation/controls or related field.
• Fresh graduates encouraged; 1–3 years considered.
• Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems.
• Familiarity with instrument drawings (P&IDs, loop diagrams).
• Knowledge of PLC/SCADA is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning instrumentation engineering works per project specs.
• Review and interpret instrumentation drawings (P&IDs, loop diagrams).
• Prepare instrument-related technical documents and deliverables.
• Coordinate instrument installation activities and cable work.
• Monitor site progress and ensure compliance with drawings and schedule.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
• Assist in instrument inspection, calibration, loop checks and testing.
• Identify technical issues and report to Project Engineer.
• Ensure compliance with standards, quality and HSE procedures.
• Prepare progress reports and inspection records.

Job description

IEM Dynamic Sdn. Bhd. is looking for qualified and committed fresh graduate who will be joining our team as an Instrument Engineer for a refinery project in Bintulu, Sarawak.

Job Type : Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and executing instrumentation engineering works in accordance with project specifications, drawings and requirements.
• Review and interpret instrumentation drawings, including P&IDs, Instrument Loop Diagrams, Hook-up Drawings, Instrument Index and Cable Schedule.
• Assist in the preparation, review and updating of instrument-related technical documents and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate instrumentation installation activities, including instrument mounting, tubing installation, cable laying, termination and instrument hook-up works.
• Monitor site progress and ensure instrumentation works are carried out according to approved drawings, project specifications and schedule.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams on technical matters and project requirements.
• Assist in conducting instrument inspection, calibration, loop checking, functional testing and commissioning activities.
• Identify and report technical issues, discrepancies and site constraints to the Project Engineer or Construction Manager.
• Ensure all instrumentation works comply with applicable engineering standards, quality requirements and HSE procedures.
• Prepare progress reports, technical submissions, inspection records and other project-related documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or any related engineering discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1–3 years of relevant working experience will also be considered.
• Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems, including pressure, temperature, flow and level instruments.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings such as P&IDs, Instrument Loop Diagrams and Wiring Diagrams will be an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA and process control systems is an advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
• Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated, responsible, proactive and willing to learn.
