Job summary

bp in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Core Finance Analyst/Lead to independently drive core finance activities across portfolios and initiatives. You will deliver management information, validate valuations, support new activity delivery and lead improvement initiatives within an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, business, engineering, data or a related field.
• Relevant professional qualification or progress toward a qualification in finance, accounting, project delivery, data or change management.
• Significant relevant experience in commodity trading finance, valuation control, management information, commercial or new activity delivery, project delivery, operational improvement or a comparable analytical environment.
• Experience with physical or financial commodity valuations, trading and reporting data, functional assurance, business implementation, improvement in execution, automation or agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Independently produce, validate and explain high-quality management information and performance analysis, investigating material movements, data issues and valuation differences, recommending actions and escalating significant matters.
• Perform valuation review activities for assigned portfolios with appropriate independence, including assessment of input data, curves, models, methodologies and adjustments.
• Support new commercial activity from assessment through implementation by coordinating assigned Finance inputs, maintaining delivery plans, completing functional assurance and readiness activities.
• Lead defined improvement initiatives within agreed scope, using structured project delivery, process redesign and change management to simplify, standardise, automate or stop work.
• Own assigned processes and deliverables end to end, maintain documentation and control evidence, and flex across Core Finance activities as business needs evolve, building breadth of experience and supporting individual development.
• Work with Commercial Finance, Controllership, Finance & Risk Advisory, the Front Office, technology and service-delivery teams to resolve data, valuation and process issues, supporting clear, coordinated delivery across changing Core Finance priorities.
