Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking a Technician in Malaysia to assemble, test, and troubleshoot instruments and service parts within a manufacturing setting. You will contribute to meeting production targets while upholding quality and process controls.

The role involves material management, quality data collection, and active involvement in workplace safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Cross-training and collaboration with multi-functional teams are expected to drive productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum certification in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing/production, preferably in a related industry.
• High technical competence, creativity, and problem-solving skills related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Willingness to undergo job rotation and cross-training to broaden skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and testing of instruments and service parts per production standards and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate testing fallout instruments and parts, adhering to engineering requirements and monitor processes for quality.
• Assist in collecting and compiling quality data for filing and engineering studies.
• Manage manufacturing material control and perform regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Ensure materials are used efficiently to minimize waste and meet daily production targets.
• Participate in multi-skill training and provide on-the-job training for new technicians.
• Engage in safety programs, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other manufacturing-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
