Job summary

PerkinElmer in Malaysia seeks a Technical Operator to perform basic mechanical assembly tasks in a production environment. You will use hand tools, follow drawings and SOPs, inspect assemblies, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Attention to detail, dexterity, and teamwork are essential to support production goals and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include assembling parts, adhering to work instructions, reporting defects, and maintaining safety with proper PPE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly processes.
• Ability to use simple hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers).
• Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read and follow basic technical drawings or instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical parts and components using hand tools, jigs, and fixtures.
• Follow work instructions, assembly drawings, kitting WI and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Inspect assembled units for accuracy, alignment, and quality compliance.
• Perform minor adjustments or rework to meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Report defects, shortages, or equipment issues to supervisors.
• Support continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements.
• Adhere to workplace safety guidelines and use PPE appropriately.
• Perform other manufacturing-related duties as assigned by the supervisor to support overall production operations.
